BSF is the primary Border guarding force of India with five Central Armed Police Forces of the Union of India, it was raised in the wake of the 1965 War on 1 December 1965, "for ensuring the security of the borders of India and for matters connected there with". It is a Central Armed Police Force charged with guarding India's land border during peacetime and preventing transnational crime. It is a Union Government Agency under the administrative control of Ministry of Home Affairs.

BSF Recruitment to the Post of SI (Master)/SI (Engine Driver)/HC (Master)/HC (Engine Driver)/HC (Workshop)/ CT (Crew) in BSF Water Wing-2016-17.

Directorate General Border Security Force New Delhi (Personnel Directorate - Recruitment Section) will held an All India Examination for recruitment to the post of Sub Inspector (SI), Head Constable (HC) and Constable of Group 'B' & 'C' posts of Water Wing in BSF for the year 2016-17. Eligible candidates apply within 30 days from the date of publication of the Notice in Employment News Paper (20 - 26 August 2016 Issue).

Age limit (Age relaxation as per rules): Between 20 -25 Years

Educational Qualifications:

Sub Inspector (Master):

(1) 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
(2) Second Class Master Certificate issued by the Central or State Inland Water Transport Authority or Mercantile Marine Department.

Sub Inspector (Engine Driver):

(1) 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
(2) First Class Engine Driver Certificate issued by the Central or State Inland Water Transport Authority or Mercantile Marine Department.

Head Constable (Master):

(1) Matriculation from a recognized board or equivalent.
(2) Serang Certificate.

Head Constable (Engine Driver):

(1) Matriculation from a recognized board or equivalent.
(2) Possessing IInd Class Engine Driver Certificate.

Head Constable (Workshop):

(1) Matriculation from a recognized Board or equivalent;
(2) Industrial Training Instituted Diploma in Motor Mechanic (Diesel / Petrol Engine) Machinist/ Welder/ Carpentry/ Electrician/ Fitter/ Air conditioner Technician/ Electronics/ Plumbing / Upholstering/ Painting from a recognized Institution.

Constable (Crew):

(1) Matriculation from a recognized board or equivalent.
(2) 01 year experience in operating of Boat below 265 HP;
(3) Should know swimming and possess a certificate to this effect from a recognized institute/ swimming pool/ any authority to give such certificate.

Selection Process: The selection procedure will be as follows:

(a) Written Examination
(b) Documentation
(c) Physical Measurement
(d) Physical Efficiency Test (Qualifying)
(e) Trade Test (Qualifying)
(f) Medical Examination

Examination Fee: Each application should be accompanied by a Demand Draft (DD) / Postal Order for ₹ 50/- as examination fee in favour of the addressee to whom the application is addressed, payable at respective SBI/Post Office at the location or nearby station. The fee is exempted for candidates belonging to SC, ST, BSF Candidates, Ex-Servicemen.
